Bringing the love...

My daughter Elena and I are getting excited about Valentines day! We found some delicious holiday inspiration on Pinterest of course, and our project was underway in no time! I saw the idea of these yummy chocolate and sprinkle covered cookies the other day. They were originally dipped in white chocolate, but since I happen to have a lifetime supply of excellent milk chocolate in my freezer... (and its better) we went chocolate.  I think we got a little carried away in the process. Pretzels were found and dipped and eaten... And eaten. And eaten. Mmmm.

Why go to all the effort if you aren't going to go all out. Right?

Here is what we came up with. I think we may have eaten as many as we saved. Oh well.
If you are one of the chosen few whom we adore, you may actually get a little taste of our lovelies! Ooh! Aren't you excited?

All you need for these little devils are:

Oreos
Melting Chocolate (White, Milk or Dark)
Sprinkles
Wax Paper (To dry cookies on)
A cute little helper

*If you want to get all carried away, you could throw a few pretzels in the mix too!

Preparation:

First I laid out a few wax sheets on the counter for the goodies to dry on. Then you can melt down your chocolate in the microwave, or over boiling water if you so choose. (I go the microwave route myself.)
Pour your sprinkles in a small bowl or ramekin and have at the ready. Dip the Oreo or pretzel in the melted chocolate and let it drain well. Place the chocolate covered Oreo in the sprinkles and use a small spoon or fork to coat the sprinkles on the sides too. After about one minute, use a small fork to flip the Oreo over so that the other side can get coated too. Gently pat down the Oreo to stabilize the sprinkles. Let it set in the sprinkle bowl for one more minute, then remove and place it on the wax sheet!
After it cools get snackin! Or share the love and give some to your special someone this V-day! :)

Happy almost valentines day! We hope your V-day preparations are just as delicious!
